Dear Single Dad,

I’m recently starting to date again after a few years of
recovering from a messy divorce with my ex-wife, and I have found someone who
makes my heart flutter again.
Total bombshell, and honestly the full package – this is a girl I want
to impress! And this weekend is
the first time I will be having her back at my house… I need to impress her big
time! I promised her a dinner and
a night in that will be worth it, and I have most of everything prepared except
for one thing: I’m a horrible bartender; I don’t know how to make a mixed drink
to save my life! What should I
make that will not only impress her but also make it seem like I know what I’m
doing behind the bar.

Signed,

Bill Behind the Bar

Dear Bill Behind the Bar,

If you want to impress a lady, you don’t want to start off
by being dishonest! If she
wouldn’t normally call you Bartender Bill don’t shoot for the stars while you
pour shots into glasses, especially when the best thing for this situation
comes already premade – ready for your enjoyment the moment that bottle is
opened (actually, you want to leave it to sit for a few minutes after opening
before you pour your cups). If you
thought I was talking about a nice bottle of your finest wine, you were
correct! Nothing is going to
impress your lady more than a sophisticated glass of wine with a home-cooked
dinner by her man. So put away
those other glasses and get out your wine cups and corkscrew, and ask your
local winery for their finest (as fine as your wallet can afford that is, as
wine can get pretty pricey real quick) so that by the end of the night, she
won’t even want to leave!

Date Night
