Introduction (Summary)
In a rut? Need something mentally and physically challenging? Go skydiving for the first time...and do it SOLO like I did.
Necessary Things:
- 3/4 cup Courage
- 1/8 cup Stupidity
- 1/8 cup Insanity
- $400 with video and stills
Step 1:
Decide to go and don't let yourself think about it any more.
Step 2:
Make out your will. You know you'll make it home, but it's a necessary step in the process.
Step 3:
Be prepared for the bombardment of "things that can go wrong" portion of the SOLO class. There are a LOT of things that can go wrong, but like the disclaimer and waiver you have to sign accepting responsibility for your death before they'll begin the class, it's all just to cover their behinds.
Step 4:
Buy the video package. You don't have a choice on this one. Ante up and you'll never regret it.
Step 5:
Focus on what you are taught to do while you're cruising to 13,000 feet. It helps with the fear thing.
Step 6:
Step out of the plane.
Tips and Tricks:
- Be sure to flare (put on the brakes of the parachute when you land)
Warnings:
- If you don't flare, see the link below (of my brother).
