Introduction (Summary)

Watch how SingleDad.com will show you how to make Fast, Healthy and Affordable Every Day Meals.

Necessary Things:

  • Feeds a Family of (4)
  • (4) Cuts of Salmon
  • (1) Cup of Brown Rice
  • (1) Bunch of Broccoli
  • (1) 4Qt Sauce Pan
  • (1) 8Qt Sauce Pan (Steam Veggies)
  • (1) BBQ Grill (optional)

Step 1:

Okay, as any single parent, we only have so much time between picking up the kids from school, getting the homework done(on time), and fixing a healthy meal. Well, I am going to offer my "tried and true" recipe that my kids like on any week night. We like to have Grilled Salmon, Brown Rice and Steamed Vegtables. Its a fast, easy and healthy dish that takes as little as 30 minutes to make and will feed a family of 4.

Step 2:

Take a look at the attached video and you will see that I even had a little time to squeeze in a little "Art Review" with my daughter Mia. I feel that most parents just need to be a little comfortable with cooking a few items outside of their kid's "comfort zone" and try different foods that offer great resources of protien... Like Fish! As you will see in my video, having a good idea on what to season your fish will make a difference and their are a variety of ways to cook the Salmon. I prefer the grill, but if you have to use a stove pan, make sure you use it on "medium heat" and dont let the fish cook more than 4 minutes on each side. You can always tell that the fish is fully cooked when you see a little "bubbling" at the top of the fish... Don't worry, these are just the juices coming to the top!

Step 3:

Please see the video above and offer you own family healthy fish recipes, (and fish sticks don't count!) i would love to hear your comments on this recipe. Please post them at the end of this article (below). Thank you, RJ Jaramillo SingleDad.com

Tips and Tricks:

  • Find a seasoning and don't be afraid to experiment with your kids. Get them involved in the process and play the video with them!
