Introduction (Summary)

Little League Baseball is here and it's important to teach Sportsmanship.

Necessary Things:

  • patients

Step 1:

I want to talk about Little League baseball and how important teaching sportsmanship is to our kids. Too many times we all see these crazy parents yelling, kicking and screaming at these kids and it just makes me crazy to watch what we are teaching our kids about baseball.

Step 2:

Baseball is supposed to be fun. Little League Baseball is supposed to be about the kids having fun. Too many times I see other parents getting way too serious about a Little League Baseball game that I almost want to take my kids and just go home. We all want our team to win, but too many times we forget that its just a game and we have kids involved.

Step 3:

Anyways, my point is that we all have to keep things in perspective and avoid being "that guy" in the bleachers calling out every play and telling our kid what to do. We have coaches that would appreciate our "coaching" kept to a minimum. We all need to step back, remind ourselves that it's just a game and that our kids are probably getting a little embarrassed by our actions. Let me know you think about Sportsmanship and post your take on the SingleDad Forum topic, Sportsmanship.

Tips and Tricks:

  • Remind your Little Leaguer that "Win or Lose"... it's just a game and you promise not to cheer too loud for them!
