At the onset of my divorce, I could not remember who I was and didn’t like the reflection in the mirror.

At the onset of my divorce, I could not remember who I was and didn’t like the reflection in the mirror. Somewhere down the line, my hair became permanently stuck in a ponytail and my clothes were hiding my figure. I had disappeared! As I learned to love myself again, my sense of style reappeared and, I am sure, helped the process.

What you wear is a clear representation of who you are. You could be stuck in past decades, mismatched, clueless, disinterested, etc… These are all signs of a person who is not comfortable with who he/she is and that might stir potential employers, acquaintances and dates away. Shallow, maybe, but it is how the world works! So my advice to you is to find your style and embrace it.

Go shopping and find clothing that fits your body type, personality and life. Not sure where to start? Go to a department store, the salesperson will have access to a wide variety of clothes and should be able to point you in the right direction. When the outfit is right, you’ll know it instantly! A friend with a style you like could also tag along. I could help too. Ask me!
