Introduction (Summary)
SingleDad.com Family visit to the World Famous, Soda Pop Stop at Galco's grocery Store in Los Angeles
Necessary Things:
Step 1:
All Parents are kids at heart and all kids… well, they are all just kids. This article was a discovery I made while surfing one of my favorite YouTube sites called CHOW. The CHOW site was featuring a small little grocery store in Los Angeles by the name of Galco. This neighborhood store had made a discovery about 20 years ago. The owner, John Nese decided to rid his store of the “Big Corporate Soda†companies and only feature the small, unique soda pop manufacturers.
Step 2:
Word had traveled quickly on the many different varieties of sodas from around the world and people started coming from all over to visit this unique market in Los Angeles. It has become sort of a “tourist stop†for people visiting from out of town. With over 500 varieties of flavored soda, Galco’s is now known as the “Soda pop Stop†(www.SodaPopStop.com)
Step 3:
I was heading up to LA this past month with my family to see Jesse Lozano and Savannah and we decided to pay a visit to John and his special store. Believe it or not, John was there on a Saturday, working the floor of his store like he has for over 20+plus years. This man was as genuine in person as he appears in the video. I introduced myself and brought my three children over to meet John and he took all four of us through a tour of his famous sodas.
Step 4:
We all took some photos with john and thanked him for his time and the tour. I was left with a shopping cart filled with a variety of sodas and a great review to offer any family that is in the greater Los Angeles area to meet John Nese, and the Soda Pop Stop at Galco’s grocery store in Los Angeles. Please enjoy this video blog and send us your comment on your next visit to Galco’s, ( e-mail: rj@singledad.com).
