Question or Comment:

My child’s mother has no job, no GED, no
drivers license and she has no interest in obtaining any of these.. We were
never married or in a relationship. I already provide my daughter with
insurance from the military and make regular child support payments. I am the
mothers only source of income. My question is, with all of these things I
mentioned is it possible to gain custody of my daughter.

paternity

Answer:

This is a pivotal point in your child’s life. If you want your daughter to thrive,
you should consult an experienced family law attorney immediately to
strategically evaluate the process of securing custody of her to safeguard her
best interest. While I am sure your daughter’s mother loves your daughter, your
daughter needs far more than that.
She needs a stable environment to live in where she knows that she will
be cared for, financially as well as emotionally. Clearly, your desire to provide that for her is admirable. A
father’s presence in a child’s life is far too important to ignore. An experienced family law attorney will
file the appropriate petitions necessary to seek custody of your daughter.
