Garden of Life Raw Cleanse

What was I thinking?
Well, let me tell you. I
had read about it in my magazines and thought, I’ve never done a colon cleanse,
so maybe I should try it. It’s a
natural body cleansing process, right?
Right?

I stood looking at all the options at the healthy,
organic-style grocery store and was thoroughly confused. Something about the Garden of Life "Raw
Cleanse" box grabbed my attention.
Maybe it was the label stating the "Ultimate Standard in Cleansing and
Detoxification", maybe it was the 3 step process that made it seem official,
maybe it was the Not-so-cheap starting price that was on sale. Anyway, I chose the box and headed
home.

Let the Cleanse Begin…

Here’s the deal.
There are 3 stages that are all taken simultaneously:

1) a packet of powder for the morning for toxin defense, a
probiotic of sorts

2) 6 tablets taken over breakfast and lunch

3) The Digestion and Elimination Powder to drink before
bedtime

Step 1 is easy.
The powder doesn’t taste bad, but you really have to follow the
directions and swish to keep the stuff from sticking to your teeth

Step 2, just drink lots of water with the pills…also simple.

Step 3 is the hard part. The powder is like sawdust, weed clippings and a very
powdery form that takes a while to dissolve. And be prepared for a nasty taste. The first night, I nearly gagged, no joke. It’s meant to work and not taste great,
so I remained focused and choked it down.
I stayed positive and hoped that it would get easier each night with
practice. It did not, but became
more dreaded with each day.

The good news is that I didn’t feel like I had to frequent
the bathroom constantly at first, but then again, I was anxious to see some
more substantial results, if you know what I mean. After 2 nights of choking down the Step 3 dirt packet, I was
getting frustrated. Then on
morning 3, the mother-load arrived and I began to believe it was worth it and
my work was paying off.

Dad Summary

So, I’m giving this product 3 of 5 SingleDad Shields. I can’t give it a poorer rating because
it did seem to slightly change things up with my productivity in the loo. However, I can’t give it more because
of the horrid taste of the nightly cocktail powder and the sluggish start to
the effectiveness. I did not
choose this product to loose weight, but given the rumored information as to
how much plaque sits around in our intestines, it would have been nice to have
the validation that I was cleaning that out. I’m not sure I did.
But, if I believe the box and the ingredients, I was indeed helping
myself and I survived knowing my guts are now apparently detoxified.
