Why Choose a Cruise for Summer 2013

Ever since the first passenger vessel designed solely for leisure set sail in the late 19th century, cruises have
always been a glamorous way to travel. The difference between now and then,
however, is that cruises today are far more affordable for the average family.
Travelling by sea on these mammoth, floating resorts is no less glamorous than
it used to be, but the cost is certainly more family-friendly.

Cruise deals for summer 2013 are a
particularly attractive option for single parents seeking more bang (and less stress) for their buck.
Here’s why:

Why fly, when you could
cruise?

Many of those who have never been on a
cruise before simply aren’t in the habit of considering cruise packages over
the flights, hotels and overpriced tourist traps of a traditional holiday.

With so many brilliant destinations just a
short flight away, it’s easy to plan a trip to some sunny European destination
without thinking about how a cruise may be the better choice. However, there
are many reasons why travelling by ship can be far more rewarding for families – particularly single
mums and dads. These advantages are just the tip of
the iceberg:

  • Kid-friendly,
    Parent-friendly

Cruises specialise in catering to a wide demographic. From seniors to
toddlers, and everyone in between, there’s plenty to keep each person in your
clan happy. More
traditional holidays often lead to forced compromises. Rather than boring the
kids to tears with a museum tour or skipping that sushi restaurant in favour of
something more child-friendly, a cruise offers the best of all worlds. The wide
array of kids’ entertainment available on cruises (from rock climbing walls to
ice rinks and video arcades) is especially beneficial for
single dads who don’t have another adult on hand to babysit.

  • Built-in
    Budgeting

No matter how well you plan a traditional holiday, it’s so easy for
costs to spiral out of control. Though you can factor the cost of flights and
accommodation into your total budget, it’s nearly impossible to predict how
much the holiday will cost after paying for meals, attractions and souvenirs.
Luckily, most cruise packages are all-inclusive, making it easy to prevent any
unplanned spending.

  • Less
    Pressure to Plan, Plan Plan

After the stress of booking flights and finding affordable
accommodation, the planning for a traditional holiday has only just begun. What
are you and your kids actually going to do while you’re there? That’s
yet another task on your shoulders. With a cruise, you get to skip this part.
From the pools and the restaurants to the on-board cinema, you have everything
you need to relax and enjoy spontaneous fun on your holiday. What’s more, regular
stops at a variety of destinations mean that you can explore somewhere
different every day, certainly a good way of ensuring your children don’t get
bored.

Factoring in the above benefits and the
many cruise deals available for families, it’s certainly worth considering a cruise for summer
2013. You may not consider yourself a ‘cruise person’, but it only takes one fantastic
voyage to be converted.
