Spring Travel Review

Esmeralda Resort,
Indian Wells California

This Spring, if you are looking for a Hotel Resort that is
family-friendly, and has the creature comforts of home; then look no further
than the Esmeralda resort in Indian Wells, California. I have been coming to
this home-away- from-home since it’s opening in 1989 and it just keeps getting
better. This resort is committed to friendly hospitality of the Marriott and
the relaxed environment of the Cochella Valley.

Dad-Friendly,
Family-Friendly Activities

With an extensive list of activities for the both the young
and old, it’s worth going to www.renaissanceesmeralda.com
to plan your stay. But don’t be
surprised if you find yourself struggling with how to prioritize. For the family, there is a kid’s club,
called Camp Oasis that provides unique activities and experiences for the young
ones. I got three, ages 10, 13, and 17 and this hotel catered to everybody;
including me. The Kid’s Night Out
is also popular as it entertains the children allowing the grown ups to
experience the adult amenities. You
are lees than a 20-minute Cab drive to the nearby casinos and they feature a
variety of adult gaming and quality entertainment; just like Vegas, without the
heavy price tag.

Family Activities at
the Esmeralda

You are guaranteed to find your perfect escape here at the
Esmeralda. Whether you want to
relax with a massage from the spa, play a round golf, swing a tennis racket or
hop on a bike; The Esmeralda can fit every mood that you are feeling. During the Weekend, the resort offers
Pool Side "Drive-In" which means guests get to sit "in or out" of the pool and
watch a "family -friendly" movie. Despite having Teens and Tweens; my whole
family enjoyed this activity. It was easy for me to keep an eye on everyone and
relax and enjoy a good movie.

On Location Dining

There are a variety of dinning experiences on the property.
I recommend the pool side menu for your lunch time while you are soaking up the
rays at the huge pool, (complete with beach sand at the shallow end). And if
you happen to lounge around the pool, don’t forget that there is a poolside bar
that makes a "perfect" Margarita for that, "Jimmy Buffet, Margaritaville"
moment you will have by the pool. For other evening dining, there is a Sushi
Bar and a restaurant called, Sirocco for the more refined dining experience. My favorite meal of the entire weekend was
the Sunday Brunch, which is featured at their main dining restaurant called,
CAVA. Just about anything you can
imagine is available at one of the ten separate tables of all you can eat
buffet. The variety and abundance of fresh food is what made this experience
welcomed and appreciated. It’s not often you see hotels these days offer
buffets of this quality and magnitude. Enjoy every minute of it.

Rooms

I remember when the "sea foam green" was the dominant color
in these rooms back in the early 90’s. Not anymore. The Esmeralda Resort has
had renovations to their rooms over the years and the entire hotel looks clean
and updated. My hotel room was large enough to fit my family of four with comfy
beds and a panoramic view overlooking the Santa Rosa Mountains and golf course.
The hotel staff inquiring if I needed a rollaway bed pleasantly surprised me.
It’s this attention to detail that I have always admired about the Esmeralda; I
didn’t have to ask, the staff was "present" and attentive to my family and I.

Extended Weekend

My stay at the Esmeralda Resort was way too short. I had
more things I wanted to do than I had time to do them. However, like an old
family friend or relative; I can always come back whenever I want to and pick
up things where I left off. I have
great family memories over the many years at this resort and it will always be
a destination for my family and me. As a father with three children of various
ages, this resort took care of everyone’s needs and that is very hard to say in
this age of the busy family lifestyle. The Esmeralda truly is a Jewell in the
desert and I recommend this resort for year around, family fun.
